With 14 UK number one hits, Westlife members topped the pop charts, selling over 50 million albums worldwide.
This Irish boy band hails from Sligo and Dublin and is regarded as one of the most successful in the previous two decades.
The Westlife members’ legacy began in 1998 and continues to this day.
Shane Filan, Kian Egan, and Mark Feehily, the founding members of the band, were born and raised in the windswept Irish west coast town of Sligo. Boyzone’s manager Louis Walsh snatched them up in 1998 after seeing them on local TV and booked them a support spot in Dublin with boy band legends The Backstreet Boys.
March 9, 2004 Fans were startled when Bryan McFadden announced his departure from Westlife, citing a desire to spend more time with his wife Kerry and their two young children.
