Breaking: Boko Haram Insurgents, Troops Battle In Maiduguri

Boko Haram fighters and troops are exchanging gunfire in Maiduguri’s Jidari Polo neighborhood.

Residents are reportedly stuck due to the strong fireworks, according to eyewitnesses.

On Tuesday evening, Yunusa, a Maiduguri resident, told The Nation that his sister had called him from that area and informed him that they were trapped within their homes.

According to our source, the attack began just as many Muslims were about to break their fast.

Boko Haram targeted Jidari Polo in May of last year.

Governor Zulum had visited residents during the assault, urging them not to flee their homes.
