Court remands Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody and adjourns trial till November 10

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has had his plea to be transferred from DSS custody to Kuje Correctional Service Centre denied by a Federal High Court in Abuja. Kanu’s motion has been denied for the second time by the court.

In July, the IPOB leader requested to be transferred to the jail, claiming that the Department of State Services had subjected him to “mental and psychological abuse” (DSS).

Kanu pled not guilty to an upgraded seven-count allegation of treasonable crime and terrorism brought by the federal government against him in court on Thursday, October 21.
