Gunmen stormedthe Junior Secondary School (JSS) Yebu staff quarters in Abuja’s Kwali Area Council and kidnapped Vice Principal Mohammed Nuhu.
A teacher who requested anonymity told DailyTrust that kidnappers armed with sophisticated weapons stormed the school on Saturday night, October 30.
He claimed that some of the kidnappers surrounded the quarters, while others scaled the compound’s gate and broke into his flat, taking him away.
Before forcing the victim’s door open, the kidnappers tied down the security guard manning the gate, he added.
“In fact, because to the random gun shots, even some teachers who are staying within the quarters may not be able to come out,” the teacher stated.
The incident occurred a few days after Abubakar Abdullahi Gbedako, the Chief Imam of Yabgoji Central Mosque and vice principal of Junior Secondary School, Kwaita, Kwali area council, was kidnapped.
Knabayi said the union had sent several emails to the FCT Administration and some area council chairmen to express its dissatisfaction with the ongoing kidnappings of its members.
Comrade Stephen Knabayi, head of the Nigeria Union Teachers (NUT) section in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), verified the vice principal’s kidnapping to Daily Trust.
