In Niger state, police apprehend four alleged fraudsters and recover N3.8 million.

Four suspected fraudsters were apprehended by the Niger State Police Command, and N3.8 million was recovered from them. The suspects were apprehended at Tunga market by police operatives affiliated to the Command’s X-Squad unit based on credicle information, according to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday, November 10.

The accused are Maduka Johnson,27, of Anambra State, David Victor,25, of Gida-Madara area of city gate, Minna, Josephine Samuel,21, of Tunga area, Minna, and Laura John,20, of Tunga area, Minna.

“The suspects specialized in scamming gullible members of the public under the guise of a 30 percent return on investment of any amount of money invested within four days,” according to DSP Abiodun.

“The group claimed to be working for one Ikechukwu Williams, who is currently on the run, while defrauding people of over twenty million naira with over sixty victims who claimed to have spent cash sums ranging from N100,000 to N500,000,” according to the report.

“The command has so far recovered roughly three million eight hundred and fifty thousand naira, and efforts to apprehend Ikechukwu Williams are still underway. All of the suspects will be charged in court as soon as the investigation is completed, and members of the public are urged to avoid making any illicit investments in the name of a quick profit “Added he.
