Starting on November 5, the eve of the governorship election in Anambra State, the Indigenous People of Biafra have launched a one-week sit-at-home protest throughout the South-East states.
In a statement released on Saturday in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, IPOB’s Media and Public Secretary, Emma Powerful, claimed the demonstration was intended at persuading the Federal Government to free its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
If Kanu is not released by November 4, the organization has promised that the demonstration will continue as planned.
Kanu is charged with treason and terrorism on a seven-count amended accusation.
