It Is A Lie IPOB Denies Plans To Attack Lagos
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denied that its members are planning an assault on Lagos.
At a security meeting with the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, May 10, the Lagos state police commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, said the command had received intelligence that some members of the secessionist party were preparing to strike the state, as some members have done in other states in the South-South and South-East regions.
“The threat of IPOB attacking soft targets in Lagos is also on the radar of the state’s command intelligence gathering and other security services. To counteract their activities, strategies are being created.
The Command is using this platform to ask for everyone’s help in being vigilant at all times and alerting security agencies to any suspicious individual or movement. Let us adopt the slogan “when you see something, say something” as our rallying cry. According to Odumosu,
IPOB spokesperson Emma Strong, in response to the accusation, urged the public to ignore the allegation and accused the state Commissioner of Police of conspiring to sow discord between Ndgbo and Yorubas.
Part of Powerful’s statement reads:
“The public is hereby informed that the claims that IPOB is planning an assault on Lagos are false.
Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos State CP who made the claim, is a former CSO to Tinubu, and their aim is to further divide Yorubas and Biafrans.
It’s not going to work. “This isn’t 1967,” he declared.
