The Delta State Police Command has rescued Jeffrey Emekume, a 27-year-old kidnap victim, and detained Aliyu Adamu, a suspected illegal drug dealer.

DSP Bright Edafe, the command’s acting spokesperson, said in a statement on Wednesday, May 12, that the Sapele Divisional Police Officer received information that Emekume had been kidnapped on the Eku-Abraka Road.

“On the 5th of August, 2021, at approximately 2000 hours, information was received by Sapele Division CSP Harrison Nwabuisi that one Jeffrey Emekume ‘m’ 27yrs had been kidnapped along Eku Abraka road Eku with his Lexus Jeep sky blue with Reg. No. RSH 716 AX on Sapele road,” Edafe said.

DPO Sapele quickly organized and led Crack Teams into the jungle, where the hoodlum, unable to stand up to the cops’ relentless efforts, deserted the victim and fled. Emekume was apprehended, and the Lexus SUV was found.

He mentioned that efforts are still being made to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
